Favorites dump foes in Milo Best basketball

DEFENDING champion University of the Visayas (UV) along with tournament favorites Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC), Cebu Eastern College (CEC) and University of San Carlos (USC) continue to stay on top of the Passerelle division after another successful weekend in the Milo 2015 Best SBP Passerelle Tournament at the SHS-AdC Gen. Maxilom Ave. campus gym.
UV beat University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF), 42-35, in a close Group A game. John Igot led UV with eight points, while Gabriel Cometa had nine points for USPF.

CEC thrashed Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC), 81-58, in the other Group A match. John Vincent Galarse had 19, while Garnird Leopoldo added 16. James Adlawan, on the other hand, was DBTC’s top scorer with 11 points.

USC also showed their dominance with a one-sided 81-58 victory over Southwestern University (SWU) in Group B. Justin Atilano spearheaded USC’s offense with 12 points, while Justin Edig had nine points for SWU.

On the other hand, host SHS-AdC humiliated University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), 59-27 with Manard Uy and Coco Tuadles scoring seven points each for SHS-AdC. Miko Watanabe scored nine points for USJ-R.

UV and CEC are sitting at the top of Group A with identical 2-0 records, while DBTC and USPF are at the bottom with 0-2 slates. USC and SHS-AdC lead Group B also with unbeaten 2-0 records, while USJ-R and SWU are both 0-2.
